FROM THIS AUTHOR

DIG DEEPER

Russia this summer was an experience that changed me. The opportunity to volunteer abroad and engage in dialogues (however broken) with Russian nurses, teachers, farmers and scholars was unique. Working to understand their lives, and relate to their situations challenged me and refined my own definitions of happiness, success, family and hope. I grew the most in the moments when I forgot where I was: in Eastern Europe, far from home. In these instances I realized that, in so many ways people share the same desires, joys and smiles no matter their longitude, across the world.
