“It was one of the most amazing experiences in my life.”

Traveling to South Africa was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I have always wanted to travel to Africa and through Hartwick's J Term I was able to accomplish my goal. It is hard for me to put into words how much this experience changed how I view the world and myself. The people of South Africa were so warm and welcoming that it felt comfortable to have conversation about their culture and the differences between the U.S. and South Africa. One of my favorite memories of the trip is participating in a traditional African dance with some school children.
