DIG DEEPER

Thanks to Dr. Piefer and a Faculty Research Grant from Hartwick, I spent my summer in the biochemistry lab studying Epulopiscium, a bacteria that lives in the gut of the surgeon fish. The hands-on experience was very rewarding; I learned many laboratory techniques, developed confidence in the lab, and worked on a thesis that I am so proud of. I am going to Anaheim, CA to share my findings amongst other scientists at the ASBMB conference as well! I am thankful for having the opportunity to apply my classroom knowledge to real-life experiments in the laboratory - there's no better way to learn.
