I received a scholarship from the Pluralism Program to attend a weekend retreat at the Zen Mountain Monastery. We practiced zazen, or "sitting practice" to observe the busy chatter in our minds, working on being still, and focusing our attention on a given task. This has been helpful for daily activities like starting homework, preparing for a test, gardening, listening, etc. I'm now taking the Buddhism class and we even visited ZMM as a field trip. I'm extremely grateful the college gave me the chance to experience the importance of learning about a religious practice different from my own. Contact admissions |
