DIG DEEPER

This summer I interned at the Wolf Mountain Nature Center. The Center is home to two Arctic foxes, five Alaskan wolves, one timber wolf and two black wolf pups. My job was to feed the animals and educate school groups and campers by giving tours. I became a part of the wolf pack and they became comfortable with approaching me. In the beginning I was very nervous, but I gained confidence and experience with public speaking. I also learned how to communicate with the wolves through body language and observed how they interact with ear and tail positioning and vocalization.
