During my summer internship at the Wolf Mountain Nature Center, in mid-July, we received two black wolf pups, which we named Seneca and Cayuga. The brothers are both black with white patches on their chests and paws. At first the pups avoided human contact as all wolves do, but soon warmed up to me and allowed me to be in physical contact with them. They would ask for food by nipping my mouth, as they do a mother wolf. I helped "socialize" the pups, which meant spending a lot of time with them in their enclosure so they would accept me as part of the pack. Contact admissions |
